Anti-Ageing Eye Treatments

Anti-Ageing Eye Treatments

When you start getting older, you can often see this in your eye area first. You have to provide your eyes with the right care to keep them young and healthy.

It is easy to care for your eyes and it only adds about one minute to your daily routine.

There are two primary products that you need and one habit that you need to break to ensure that your eyes look as young as possible.

Use a Good Eye Cream

Most people do not think about using a good eye cream, but this is critical and many creams today can fight against the signs of ageing so that you look younger.

They brighten and plump the skin so that things like wrinkles, sunken areas and dark circles are alleviated.

It is critical that you use a cream that is specifically for the eyes since the skin is sensitive in this area. A regular moisturiser may be too harsh and actually make the signs of ageing worse.

When you are choosing an eye cream, look for one that contains vitamin E, vitamin C or other strong antioxidants. Antioxidants neutralise the free radicals that are attacking your skin and making you look older.

It is important to apply your eye cream per the directions to get the best results. You only need a drop of product because using too much can actually accentuate problems like puffy under eye bags.

Use your ring finger to gently pat the product into place. This finger naturally uses the right amount of pressure so that you do not damage the delicate skin in the area.

Never rub the product into your eye area because this can cause trauma and worsen dark circles.

Rubbing the product into your eye area worsens discolouration and can damage the skin so that it is more prone to wrinkling.

This skin is very delicate and you want to essentially treat it with kid gloves when you are applying products and removing them.

You generally apply a good eye cream once a day before you go to bed. This allows the product to penetrate your skin and go to work as you sleep.

Daytime Eye Moisturiser

During the day, you do not want to use your thick eye cream, but you want to plump lines and make your eyes look younger. This is where a good daytime eye moisturiser is important.

You also want to make sure that it doubles as a sunscreen to protect your eyes against further damage.

Make sure that you allow the product to sink into your skin before applying any makeup. This takes about 15 minutes for most products and this allows the product to plump the skin so that you look younger.

Go to the Optician

In some cases, you are developing lines and wrinkles due to your vision being bad and causing you to squint.

In these cases, you want to correct the underlying vision problem so that you can stop squinting since continued squinting will just make the lines worse.

Once you have the right corrective lenses, you will find that the lines around your eyes start to soften and they stop getting worse.

You should see your eye doctor once a year to stay ahead of the problems that can cause squinting and the associated wrinkles.

These treatments all work to reduce the signs of ageing around your eyes. These are all easy and they are things that you can start doing today.
